I stepped forward and opened the door
For the lady walking behind me
She said to me sarcastically
You've made my day, you sexist bore
She walked in first, needless to say
Then turned and demanded to see
Proof of my identity
And reported me straightaway
I was taken to the police station
Where they took my DNA
Destroying my dignity
And demanded an explanation
Have you not heard of equality?
Not heard of women's rights?
Women's long heroic fight
To gain liberty and parity?
I tried to say that I was old
Back then things were different
We had another government
I didn't mean to be so bold
The Judge, she was very kind
Took into account my state of mind
Confused, vague, miles away
Re-education camp - ninety-nine days!
